Tom Virgin

If you haven’t met Tom, here’s a quick primer:


A Washingtonian by birth, he has lived on both coasts, the West, and South America. His Spanish and Portuguese are tolerable, though his dancing is not. His superpower is godlike patience—his kryptonite: ciabatta. For 15 years Tom has been at the helm of Studio Tom, trying to make the world a better place through creative problem solving.

Whether by fate or fascination, Tom’s catalog of skills is an ever-growing list of right- and left-brained activities: design and coding, photography/videography and digital editing, presentation design and animation, illustration, fine art, art reproduction, teaching—even several years as an orchestral musician. He has carved out a niche as an experienced one-stop resource for anyone needing intelligent, attractive digital and marketing solutions.

When not writing biographical blurbs in the third person, Tom can be found coding, baking, drawing, designing, building, fixing, practicing guitar, writing, or otherwise creating something—most commonly with Ella Fitzgerald providing backup. Or he’ll be slaying the New York Times’ Spelling Bee and reading poetry with his impossibly lovable family.

I am an Art Director with 18 years of experience in graphic design, advertising and digital marketing. In that time I have been able to work with everyone from mom and pop small businesses on up to some of the largest global corporations. I truly enjoy that I am able to have a career where I can use my creativity to help businesses succeed. I grew up drawing and painting and originally went to school to pursue those passions. At Hartford Art School, surrounded by so many talented artists, I quickly realized how difficult it would be to “make it” as a traditional artist. I switched gears and decided to major in Visual Communication Design and I am happy to say that I can be creative and have a steady job at the same time.
